This page gathers what Sun Home Saunas publishes about the Equinox 3, checked Oct 20, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install. Our verdict on it runs in Sun Home Saunas review: what the Cold Plunge Pro and the Luminar are worth.
Who should buy the Equinox 3?
The Equinox 3 suits two people who want room to spread out, or three who sit close, and who'd like full-spectrum heat without a 240V circuit. Five far-infrared panels line the back and sides, two 500W full-spectrum heaters stand in the front corners, and Sun Home rates it to 165°F.
Sun Home's own manual warns that the corner heaters get hot enough to burn, so keep knees and hair clear of them, and it plans on 30 to 45 minutes to warm up. If two people will use it most days, the Equinox 2 costs $900 less on the same circuit. If red light matters to you, Sun Home's Eclipse 2 adds it in a Japanese cedar cabin.
What does it take to install?
Sun Home specifies a dedicated 120V/20A circuit with GFCI protection and a NEMA 5-20 outlet, the kind with a sideways slot beside one prong. Plug the cabin straight into it, since Sun Home rules out power strips and extension cords. The 10-foot cord leaves from the back-left of the roof, so put the outlet within reach of that corner.
Assembled, the Equinox 3 takes a footprint of about 62 by 46 inches and stands 77.7 inches tall on its feet. Sun Home asks for 4 inches on every side and 12 above, which fits under a standard 8-foot ceiling, and it's built for indoor use only. The free delivery stops at the curb, and the wall cartons stand 75 inches tall, so check the route to the room before the truck comes. Sun Home's manual asks for two or more people to put it together.
What does the Equinox 3 cost all in?

|---|---|---|
| List price | $7,699 | The regular price at Sun Home Saunas, recorded Oct 20, 2026. |
| Shipping | $0 | Sun Home ships free by curbside freight in the US and quotes delivery to the room of your choice on request. |

| Assembly | $0 if you build it | Sun Home's FAQ lists a Phillips screwdriver, a rubber mallet, a step ladder and an Allen key. |
Sun Home listed the Equinox 3 at $7,699 on Oct 20, 2026, after its fall sale price of $6,999 ended, and its sales come around often enough to check before you order. By our math it comes to about $7,700 before tax in a room that already has the outlet. Sun Home takes returns only unopened and within 30 days, with a 25% restocking fee and freight both ways.
This page draws on Sun Home's Equinox 3 spec sheet (Oct 6, 2026) and its Equinox 2 and 3 owner's manual (Oct 7, 2026), plus Sun Home's product and help pages read Oct 19 and 20, 2026, alongside the cabins in our catalogue. Sun Home's FAQ gives warm-up as 15 to 30 minutes and its manual as 30 to 45, and we use the manual. The all-in figure is our arithmetic.

Outside
It's one sheet of glass on two hinges, with a pull handle inside and out.
Sun Home builds it from kiln-dried eucalyptus with a black finish outside. The cabinet measures 62.3 by 45.9 inches and stands 77.7 inches tall on its feet.
Sun Home put it outside so the cabin can warm up before you get in. The main controls are on the inside wall.
It's 10 feet long and needs a dedicated 120V, 20A outlet (NEMA 5-20), so put that outlet on this side of the room.
Give it a level, dry floor indoors with room on every side. It weighs 642 pounds.
Inside
Three sit behind your back and one on each side, all behind a wooden grid.
It's 57 inches long, a foot longer than the Equinox 2's, on the same depth.
It sets the temperature and the session time, and one button steps the full-spectrum heaters through their levels. The far-infrared panels run whenever the sauna is on. Sun Home rates the Equinox to 165°F.
Each is a 500-watt cabinet angled at the bench, with tubes that cover the spectrum from near infrared to far. Sun Home sells the system as True Wave.
Two chromotherapy lights sit in front of a pair of Bluetooth speakers, so your own music can play through a session.
We built this model from Sun Home's 3D tour and spec sheet, so small details can differ from the sauna that arrives.

Before you buy
- How much does the Sun Home Equinox 3 cost?
- Sun Home's store listed the Equinox 3 at $7,699 on Oct 20, 2026, once its fall sale price of $6,999 had ended, and it ships free by curbside freight in the US. It comes in kiln-dried eucalyptus only, and Sun Home asks you to email for other woods or stains. Checkout offers Affirm financing and HSA or FSA payment through Truemed.
- Does the Sun Home Equinox 3 need 240V?
- No. Sun Home's spec sheet puts the Equinox 3 on a dedicated 120V/20A circuit with GFCI protection and a NEMA 5-20 outlet, and the cabin draws 2,020W. Sun Home rules out power strips and extension cords, and its warranty terms say using one voids the coverage.
- How big is the Sun Home Equinox 3?
- The Equinox 3 measures 62.3 inches wide by 45.9 deep and stands 77.7 inches tall on its 2-inch feet, by Sun Home's spec sheet. Its bench is 56.6 inches wide and 20.2 deep, and the cabin weighs 642 lbs assembled. Sun Home asks for 4 inches of clearance on every side and 12 inches above.
- What's the difference between the Equinox 2 and the Equinox 3?
- The Equinox 3 is 11.4 inches wider than the Equinox 2 and adds a fifth far-infrared panel, so it draws 2,020W against 1,880W. Both keep two 500W full-spectrum heaters in the front corners, reach 165°F and run on a dedicated 120V/20A outlet. On Oct 20 the Equinox 3 cost $900 more, $7,699 against $6,799.
- Is the Sun Home Equinox 3 low EMF?
- Sun Home calls the Equinox ultra-low EMF, and its safety page links a Vitatech summary that measured 0.3 to 0.9 mG at three feet. That report names no model, so Sun Home publishes no reading for the Equinox 3 itself.
