Good to know: Redwood rates it for four to six. The sauna body carries a one-year warranty, and Harvia covers the heater's elements for a year and its other parts for five. If you pour a pad, the Vista manual asks for concrete at least 4 inches thick with mesh, and Redwood also accepts gravel or pavers.

Best outdoor saunas: which one should go in your yard?
For infrared heat outside we'd buy Sun Home's Luminar 5, and Nootka's 8ft barrel is our traditional pick. Redwood's eight-seat Garden suits a crowd, and Almost Heaven's Salem gets you a hot-rock barrel for $4,176.
