Good to know: Enlighten's manual asks for a dedicated 20-amp circuit with a NEMA 5-20 plug and recommends 30 amps on a new line, so have an electrician sign off on the circuit before delivery.

The Enlighten Sierra 2 Peak Outdoor Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna is an infrared cabin. Its panels warm your body directly while the air holds around 45–60°C (113–140°F), so sessions run 30 to 45 minutes. A traditional sauna heats the air to 80–100°C. Infrared or traditional?
What to know before you buy
Western Red Cedar, full-spectrum, 120V plug-in. These decide whether it suits your space and your electrical panel.
- Western Red CedarWestern Red Cedar is the high-end sauna wood, and it resists rot and insects naturally. It's aromatic and conducts heat poorly, so benches stay cool enough to sit on at 90°C.
- Full-SpectrumA full-spectrum cabin gives you the widest wavelength coverage you can buy, since it adds near and mid infrared to far infrared in one room.
- 120V Plug-InA plug-in model runs on a standard household outlet, so you won't need an electrician. Check whether it needs its own dedicated circuit.
