Dundalk LeisureCraft review: which Canadian Timber sauna fits your yard and budget?
Dundalk's four white-cedar kits cost $5,946 to $7,616 before a heater. We fit each one to a yard and add what the heater and the wiring cost.
By Adam Bognar, Editor

Dundalk LeisureCraft's Harmony barrel is our first pick for two to four people, at $5,946 before a heater, and the six-seat Georgian cabin costs the least per seat. We priced the four Canadian Timber saunas in our catalogue at Sauna Kit Co and Select Saunas and added the Harvia heater each one needs. We also read LeisureCraft's warranty, its delivery terms and two of its assembly manuals. LeisureCraft builds in Ontario and sells through dealers in Canada, the US and Europe, so you'll buy from a store and never from the factory. We checked every price on Oct 5, 2026, and they're all in US dollars.
Read our Nootka guide if you'd pay more to have a crew build the sauna for you.
Dundalk builds its Canadian Timber saunas from eastern white cedar
Dundalk LeisureCraft started in 2004 as a family cedar-furniture shop in Melancthon, Ontario, near the village of Dundalk. It began building saunas in 2006. The company now trades as LeisureCraft, and its old dundalkleisurecraft.com address forwards to leisurecraft.com. LeisureCraft says it runs six facilities with more than 30 staff.
You'll meet two cedar ranges from the same factory. The Dundalk collection is Western Red Cedar. LeisureCraft launched Canadian Timber in 2018 and builds it mostly from eastern white cedar, and all four of the saunas in our catalogue come from that line.
LeisureCraft says eastern white cedar resists moisture and decay as well as red cedar, with a lighter color and a subtler smell. Both stores describe its tight knots, so expect a pale, knotty room. Home and Heat's listing puts the Harmony's walls at an inch and a half, which matches Nootka's clear red cedar and beats Almost Heaven's inch and three-eighths.
The four Dundalks we list cost $5,946 to $7,616 before a heater
Sauna Kit Co sells three of the four and Select Saunas sells the Luna. Select also stocks the other three for $1 to $31 more, so you can pick the store on lead time and support.
We added the cheapest Harvia that fits each room, at Select Saunas' prices. A KIP60B with built-in controls costs $1,195 and the 8 kW KIP80B $1,258, and either needs a $79 box of Harvia stones. The KIP W versions cost less, but they need a separate Xenio wall panel at $415, so they end up dearer.
| Model | Shape and seats | Sauna price | Heater we priced | Total with heater and stones | Per seat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harmony CTC22W | Barrel, 2–4 | $5,946 at Sauna Kit Co | Harvia KIP60B, 6 kW | $7,220 | About $1,805 |
| Mini Pod CTC77MW | Pod, 2–4 | $5,956 at Sauna Kit Co | Harvia KIP60B, 6 kW | $7,230 | About $1,810 |
| Luna CTC22LU | Cube, 2–4 | $7,392 at Select Saunas | Harvia KIP60B, 6 kW | $8,666 | About $2,170 |
| Georgian CTC88W | Cabin, 2–6 | $7,616 at Sauna Kit Co | Harvia KIP80B, 8 kW | $8,953 | About $1,490 |
Prices in US dollars, read on Sauna Kit Co and Select Saunas on Oct 5, 2026. Heaters and stones are Select Saunas prices. Per-seat figures divide by the top of each maker's seat range and leave out the electrician and the base.
The Harmony barrel is the cheapest way into a Dundalk
The Harmony is Dundalk's two-to-four person barrel, and it costs $5,946 at Sauna Kit Co. Patio & Pizza's spec sheet gives it an outside footprint of 85¼ by 79 inches and an interior of 235 cubic feet, with two benches 72 inches long and 20 deep. Price it first if you'll mostly bathe in twos and want the smallest room to heat.
Dealers don't agree on its heater. Home and Heat pairs it with a 6 kW Harvia KIP, and Select Saunas recommends 8 kW. By our rule of about 1 kW per 45 cubic feet, 235 cubic feet needs 5.2 kW, or 6.5 kW once you allow a quarter more for outdoor walls and a glass door. A 6 kW heater covers it on paper, and 8 kW gives you headroom in a hard winter.
The Harmony's crate is 84 inches long, according to Patio & Pizza, which keeps it under the 92-inch limit for a liftgate. Select Saunas listed it as in stock and shipping within two to seven days.

The Mini Pod gives two people room to lie down
Dundalk's Mini Pod costs $5,956, ten dollars more than the Harmony, and it seats the same four. LeisureCraft calls the shape a raindrop and says it adds headroom, and the roof is black asphalt shingle. Sauna Kit Co says its two side benches seat four upright or let two people lie down, and that layout is the reason to pick it over the barrel.
Sauna Kit Co lists it at 7 by 7 feet, though the 184 cm it gives alongside works out closer to six. It's worth asking the dealer for the drawing before you pour a base. LeisureCraft puts the crate at 1,403 lbs. If you choose a wood stove, Sauna Kit Co says the chimney leaves through the back wall.

The Luna buys a cube's headroom at the highest price per seat
The Luna is Dundalk's cube, and Select Saunas sells it for $7,392 against an $8,892 list price. LeisureCraft's drawing puts it at 86¼ inches square outside, with an interior of 80¼ by 80¼ inches and 79¼ inches high. It has a sloped EPDM rubber roof and a front window of double 5 mm bronze tempered glass, according to Select Saunas.
Select Saunas recommends a 6 kW heater. We'd look harder at that. By our arithmetic the room holds about 295 cubic feet before the benches, the top of the 170 to 300 cubic feet Harvia rates the KIP60 for, and our outdoor rule points to 8 kW. The KIP80B adds $63.
The Luna seats four for about $2,170 each with a heater, the most of the four Dundalks. You're paying for full-height walls and the window. The crate weighs 1,526 lbs, according to LeisureCraft, and Select Saunas quoted six to eight weeks to ship.

The Georgian seats six for the least per seat
The Georgian is Dundalk's cabin, and at $7,616 it's the dearest sticker of the four and the cheapest per seat. Sauna Kit Co lists an interior of 7 by 7 by 7 feet and an L-shaped two-tier bench on the back wall for two to six people. A black metal shingle roof tops it, and it has two front windows of 5 mm bronze tempered glass.
That interior's 343 cubic feet, so we priced the 8 kW KIP80B, which Harvia rates for rooms of 250 to 425 cubic feet. Sauna Kit Co and Select Saunas both recommend 8 kW. With heater and stones it comes to $8,953, or about $1,490 a seat.
Select Saunas also sells the Georgian with a porch for $8,594 and with a changing room for $10,130. The Georgian won't fit on a liftgate, Select Saunas says, so you'll want a crew of three or four to take it off in pieces, or you can buy the driver offload at checkout.

See the specifications and priceBudget about $1,300 for the heater and more for the wiring
You'll buy the heater on top for every Dundalk in our catalogue. The Harvia KIP is the electric choice the dealers name most, and LeisureCraft's warranty table also lists Homecraft and HUUM electric heaters. Our table uses the KIP60B at $1,195 and the KIP80B at $1,258, each with a $79 box of stones.
An electric heater needs a dedicated 240V circuit, hardwired by a licensed electrician. Home and Heat lists the 6 kW KIP at 25 amps on a 30-amp breaker with 10-gauge wire. The 8 kW KIP draws 33.3 amps, so the Georgian needs a heavier circuit. The electrician's bill depends mostly on the cable length between your panel and the sauna.
A wood stove doesn't need the electrician, and it costs more up front. Select Saunas sells Harvia's M3 stove for $969 and a 1,500 mm chimney kit for $1,332 to $1,487. Our wood-fired versus electric piece weighs the two.
Plan the base and the unloading before you order
Dundalk's Harmony manual asks for a level base with a slight slope to the back for drainage. A concrete pad or a wood deck works, and so do crushed stone and pavers. The manual suggests building the base bigger than the sauna so you've got somewhere to sit and cool off. You'll want that base priced alongside the heater.
LeisureCraft's delivery sheet sets out who does what. The truck, often an 18-wheeler, brings the crate to the end of your driveway, and the driver won't unload it. Crates run 800 to 1,600 lbs. One under 92 inches long may come with a liftgate, and anything longer needs a crew, a forklift or a trailer.
LeisureCraft will arrange a tilt-tow truck through your dealer for $500. Changing the delivery address after the crate leaves the factory costs $250, and LeisureCraft bills terminal storage fees to your dealer when a slow reply holds up delivery. Sauna Kit Co ships free on orders over $1,000.
Both stores sell in US dollars. In Canada you'd buy through one of LeisureCraft's own dealers, which its Find a Retailer page lists.
LeisureCraft's warranty runs five years, and some dealers still print three
LeisureCraft's warranty page gives everything it makes five years against defects in materials and workmanship in residential use. It counts from the day the sauna reaches you and covers parts only, so labor and installation are yours. It excludes wear and tear and weather, along with damage from poor installation or skipped maintenance.
Sauna Kit Co prints the same five years. Select Saunas and Home and Heat still print a three-year term for the Canadian Timber collection. Don't pay until your dealer puts the term in writing.
Heaters carry their own cover. LeisureCraft's table gives Harvia's KIP three years, excluding the elements and the rocks. Neither Sauna Kit Co nor Select Saunas showed any owner reviews for these four saunas when we read them on Oct 5, 2026, so we can't report a pattern of complaints.
Dundalk costs more per seat than Almost Heaven and less than Nootka's barrel
Almost Heaven undercuts Dundalk once you count the heater, because every Almost Heaven ships with one. The four-person Pinnacle barrel costs $5,303 with a Harvia KIP60B, or about $1,326 a seat. Against the Harmony's $7,220 with a heater, that's about $1,900 less for the same four seats. The ten-foot Shenandoah adds a changing room for $7,455.
Nootka's 8ft barrel costs $8,200 with its own 9 kW heater, about $2,050 a seat, in clear Western Red Cedar. In the Canadian metros it serves, Nootka delivers it and builds it for you. Only the Luna costs more per seat than that.
Choose Dundalk over Almost Heaven for a pod or a six-seat cabin, since the Almost Heaven outdoor models Select Saunas carries are all barrels.
| Sauna | Seats | Price with heater | Per seat | Heater in the price? |

| Dundalk Georgian | 6 | $8,953 | About $1,490 | No, we added a KIP80B |
| Dundalk Harmony | 4 | $7,220 | About $1,805 | No, we added a KIP60B |
| Dundalk Luna | 4 | $8,666 | About $2,170 | No, we added a KIP60B |
| Almost Heaven Pinnacle | 4 | $5,303 | About $1,326 | Yes, Harvia KIP60B |

| Nootka 8ft Barrel | 4 | $8,200 | About $2,050 | Yes, Nootka 9 kW |
Dundalk figures come from the first table. Almost Heaven prices are Select Saunas' and Nootka's is its own starting price, all from our catalogue. Nootka also delivers and installs within its range, which none of the kits include.

See the specifications and priceWho should buy a Dundalk?
Buy a Dundalk if you want a cedar kit from a Canadian maker and you'll build it yourself over a weekend. Home and Heat says two people need about eight hours for the Harmony, and Select Saunas gives the Mini Pod about the same. We'd start with the Harmony for two to four people. Take the Mini Pod if you'd rather lie down, and the Georgian if six of you bathe together.
The Luna makes sense when the cube's look matters to you and the extra $1,450 over the Harmony doesn't. If you'd rather pay less and get the heater in the box, read our Almost Heaven review. For clear cedar and someone else doing the build, Nootka's barrel is the one to price.
This review draws on LeisureCraft's warranty policy, its Luna drawing and its Harmony assembly manual (April 2025 edition), checked Oct 5, 2026. It also uses the Sauna Kit Co, Select Saunas, Home and Heat and Patio & Pizza listings read the same day, and NFPA 70 for the wiring.
Common questions
- Where are Dundalk LeisureCraft saunas made?
- Dundalk LeisureCraft builds its saunas in Melancthon, Ontario, near the village of Dundalk. The company started in 2004 and has made saunas since 2006. It sells through dealers in Canada, the US and Europe, and now trades as LeisureCraft.
- Does a Dundalk sauna come with a heater?
- No. Dundalk's Canadian Timber saunas sell without a heater, and you choose an electric or wood-burning one at checkout. At Select Saunas' prices, a Harvia KIP60B and a box of stones add $1,274, and the 8 kW KIP80B with stones adds $1,337. An electric heater also needs a hardwired 240V circuit from a licensed electrician.
- Is eastern white cedar good for a sauna?
- Yes. LeisureCraft says eastern white cedar resists moisture and decay as well as Western Red Cedar, with a lighter color and a subtler smell. Dundalk builds its Canadian Timber saunas from it and saves red cedar for its Dundalk and Pure Cube collections. Expect a pale room with tight knots.
- What warranty does Dundalk LeisureCraft give?
- LeisureCraft's warranty page gives its saunas five years against defects in materials and workmanship in residential use, counted from the day you receive the sauna. It covers parts only, without labor or installation. Some dealers, including Select Saunas, still list three years for the Canadian Timber collection, so confirm the term with yours.
- How is a Dundalk sauna delivered?
- A Dundalk sauna arrives as a crate of 800 to 1,600 lbs on a freight truck, and the driver leaves it at the end of the driveway without unloading it. Crates under 92 inches may come with a liftgate. A longer crate needs helpers or a forklift, or LeisureCraft can send a tilt-tow truck through your dealer for $500.
- Dundalk or Almost Heaven: which costs less?
- Almost Heaven costs less per seat, because its saunas include a Harvia heater. The four-person Almost Heaven Pinnacle is $5,303 with a 6 kW KIP60B, and the four-person Dundalk Harmony is $5,946 before about $1,274 for the same heater and stones. Dundalk makes shapes that Almost Heaven's outdoor range doesn't, such as the Mini Pod and the six-seat Georgian cabin.
- How long does a Dundalk sauna take to assemble?
- Home and Heat says two people need about eight hours to build the Dundalk Harmony barrel, and Select Saunas gives the Mini Pod about eight hours too. The Georgian cabin is bigger and takes longer. Dundalk's Harmony manual recommends watching its assembly video before you start.
